TV Analysis: Watch and analyze 1 hour of television. Record how many commercials for food products you see during that time. Categorize the types of food advertised and compare that to the type of program you were watching. To make it more interesting, try watching a different channel or typr of program and compare them.
Approximately 1 page of data collected during the hour of TV watching: Describe the programs (or channels) watched and the food commercial (who’s the target, audienced, what kind of food is it, what claims are being made, what nutritional information is given, etc., “just the facts”). Then, analyze what you saw in about 1 page ( how effective was the commercial, how might it reflect or influence the target community’sfood choices, compare the frequency of “health foods” commercials with other types, how does this commercial impact you, your family, ect.)
